Our Story
I’m Faye, the founder and designer of Mini Atlas Co. I started learning to draw as a child, and over the years, I’ve travelled to many parts of the world. On each trip, I would look for something to bring home — something I could use and enjoy that would remind me of the place.
I founded Mini Atlas Co. to bring that feeling together with my love of drawing.
Based in Melbourne, I create original illustrations inspired by Australia’s landscapes and local history. I use old newspaper illustrations and historical photographs as references, studying the buildings, scenery and everyday details recorded in them. Each collection brings together details that give a region its particular character.
We develop these illustrations across silk scarves, carryalls, homewares and stationery, adjusting the colour, scale and placement to suit each piece. They are designed for everyday use: a scarf to wear, a notebook to fill, or a table runner to bring out when friends come over.
The place in a design might remind you of a holiday, somewhere you grew up, or the town you call home. It might simply be somewhere you’ve always admired. You may find us while visiting, or long after you’ve unpacked.
